Hearty Envelope Exchange

Here’s the decorative bit of my submission for the Hearty Envelope Exchange at the Calligraphy Exchange list on Yahoo. Done with liquid frisket and watercolor on an extra envelope left over from a wedding job. The linework is taken from standard figurative motifs in medieval illuminations.

  1. Ohhh I like!!
Do you like the yahoo calligraphy exchange group?
I’m finding cyberscribes not very interesting lately.

  2. Thanks!
I like the Calligraphy Exchange group because it gives me a reason to do little callgraphy projects. I participate in most of the exchanges, and I like having the deadlines.
I don’t belong to Cyberscribes anymore, so I can only compare to what was true when I was a member. The Calligraphy Exchange group doesn’t post as much as Cyberscribes members used to, but more of it is on topic and is generally related to exchanges.

  3. Oh yikes! *blushes furiously* Your envelope is so pretty! Please don’t laugh when you get the one I sent! Yours is very, very beautiful!

  4. Bettsi,

I got a Hearty Envelope in the mail today, but it wasn’t from you. Isn’t that strange? I look forward to getting two envelopes, but I hope that someone else doesn’t get none!
