Day 13 – DSED

I started with a new Stimudent tool today. Actually, it’s the part of the Stimudent pack left over from the first tool. Both shown below. I’ve wrapped them in brown plastic tape to prevent ink from wicking up to my fingers. The one I’m currently using is stabilized across the width with two scraps of mat board; the Stimudents tend to curve in the hand.

  1. At first I wasn't sure about these but with each passing day/letter, I'm finding them more and more interesting. The variations in intensity, the differences in the paper you use, I like what you're doing. And I especially like the tool you are using, and the way you are making thoughtful decisions about what you are doing. Who would have seen Interdents as the calligrapher's friend!

  2. Well, I wasn't too sure about them either, to begin with. But I can't let that deter me. This experiment is more about being there in the process than it is about getting results. I can't quite remember that quote that says it so well, if I can find it, I'll post it with today's letter.
