3D Design

After 10 days in Mexico, I’m scrambling to complete projects due in classes early next week. Here are 3 views of my 3D assignment (at the taped-only stage), which requires 7 elements and a non-90-degree base. I think. I’ve read and re-read the printed assignment instructions, but it’s no substitute for the classes I missed last week. All that’s left to do now is to take the whole think apart, re-assemble it with hot glue, and paint it. That’s all …

As usual, click on the images for a closer view.

  1. I really like these Beth..
Can’t wait to see when they get done.
What if you gilded them? 🙂

  2. Thanks, Victoria. You know, I did consider something metallic. And then I decided that it would add to the “army tank” quality of the sculpture, and I wanted it to be a little more abstract than that. I gesso’d (how do you make that noun a verb?) them with the idea of painting it — it’s 3 views of the same piece, btw — but could never find a color that beat the gesso color. Not to mention the fact that I have 2 other large projects due early next week as well 🙂

See next post for the completed piece.
