Using the month of May as my theme, I discovered the Robert Browning words about the birth of violets and this quote gave inspiration for the colors and painting.
Arches 90 lb. hot-pressed watercolor paper was water colored in washes of violet mixed with Prussion blue, lemon & Naples yellow and viridian green. Flowers were painted with same colors. Rubber stamps for violet and leaves are my hand-cut stamps. Ink is Mont Blanc violet. Folded form is my own design.
