I just read about this one this week.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And these are all historical manuscript collections which I return to from time to time:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/lichfield.ou.edu\/models\/gallery\">Manuscripts of Lichfield Cathedral<\/a>, including (according to my notes):\n<ul>\n<li>St. Chad Gospels \u2013 c. 730. Blend of Irish and Anglo-Saxon influences; think Lindisfarne Gospels and Book of Kells, both written a little later; it includes the earliest surviving examples of Old Welsh writing. Celtic half-uncial.<\/li>\n<li>Wycliffe New Testament&nbsp;\u2013 late 1400s; insular gothic style.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/chs.harvard.edu\/CHS\/article\/display\/2624\"><i>Iliad<\/i><\/a>, 10th century manuscript, Venetus A<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/treasures\/magnacarta\/index.html\"><i>Magna Carta<\/i><\/a>&nbsp;at the British Library.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/collections\/treasures\/quran\/quran_broadband.htm?middle\"><i>Qur&#8217;an<\/i><\/a>, 14th century Cairo.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/onlinegallery\/sacredtexts\/lisbonbib.html\"><i>Hebrew Bible<\/i><\/a>, 1482 Lisbon by Samuel ben Samuel Ibn Musa<\/span><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/beinecke.library.yale.edu\/digitallibrary\/voynich.html\"><i>Voynich Manuscript<\/i><\/a>, end of 15th century&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>da Vinci&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bl.uk\/collection-items\/leonardo-da-vinci-notebook\">notebook<\/a>&nbsp;at the British Library<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bl.uk\/collection-items\/ethiopic-bible\">Ethiopic bible<\/a>, 15th century<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/learning\/timeline\/item105243.html\">Mozart&#8217;s notebook<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Jane Austen&#8217;s &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/learning\/timeline\/item105243.html\">handwritten juvenilia<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bl.uk\/collection-items\/the-notebook-of-william-blake\">Notebook of William Blake<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/dss.collections.imj.org.il\/isaiah\"><i>Great Isaiah Scroll<\/i><\/a>, c.125 BCE, one of the Dead Sea Scrolls discovered in the 1970s<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bl.uk\/onlinegallery\/sacredtexts\/lindisfarne.html\"><i>Lindisfarne Gospels<\/i><\/a>, late 7th century<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And, while I was drafting this post, this came my way: a&nbsp;<a style=\"font-size: 1rem;\" href=\"http:\/\/crln.acrl.org\/index.php\/crlnews\/article\/view\/16683\/18154\">comprehensive list<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\"> of online collections, twitter accounts and blogs having to do with medieval manuscripts.
